EXPLORATORY THERAPY
Next steps: you have been placed on a waiting list and a member of our mental wellbeing team will be in touch with you when an appointment becomes available.
Exploratory therapies are designed to address depression. The focus is on how you relate with others and how you feel about and treat yourself. In these sessions there will be the opportunity to reflect on your emotions and feelings. This will be done in relation to current and past relationships including the relationship that you develop with your therapist. The aim is to help you to expand your self-awareness through the experiences that are shared within the therapy room and elsewhere. This will enable you to begin to understand and manage yourself in a different way.
The approximate waiting time for this treatment is approximately 5 months.
As a service, we are committed to adapting our services to meet the needs of our diverse client group. However, if you have any individual needs that will enable you to engage in these services – for example, if you need to speak to a therapist of a specific gender due to a traumatic experience, or if you have any cultural needs – please contact the service on 01138434388 or send us an email at lmws.queries@nhs.net. We will try to meet these needs wherever possible.
